Did you know that in New Hampshire, transgender people still lack fair and equal legal protections under the law?
Even though New Hampshire has a statewide non-discrimination law that protects people from unfair treatment on the basis of race, gender, religious beliefs, disability status, and sexual orientation (among other classes), people are not protected on the basis of gender identity.
There's still a lot of misunderstanding about what it means to be transgender—and that's normal. But ultimately, no one should ever be discriminated against just because of who they are.
That's why I just joined Freedom New Hampshire, the nonpartisan campaign dedicated to raising awareness about transgender people, and building broad support for explicit non-discrimination protections under the law. Will you join me by adding your name now?
